English summary — sent to your inbox
Your bank called about your account application. One document — the certificate of registered company matters — needs to be re-sent by Friday. AIRI confirmed you will mail it this week. No call-back needed.
Every way to get a Japanese number assumes you’re already in Japan.
Japanese SIM cards
Require a residence card and a Japanese address — and most activate only after you land in Japan. No use to you while the paperwork happens from abroad.
Overseas VoIP (050) numbers
Often rejected on bank and government forms — and business VoIP providers ask for Japanese corporate registration you don’t have yet. And when the bank calls back in Japanese, nobody answers.
Staffed answering services
Cover weekday office hours only and assume you already have a number and an address in Japan. Tokyo business hours are your midnight.
Meanwhile, your company registration and bank application can’t move without a number someone actually answers — in Japanese. AIRI closes that gap.
Three steps, all from where you are now.
Verify your identity
Submit your ID and proof of address — we guide the paperwork in English. Your number is registered to you. AIRI never lends numbers or names.
Your Japanese number goes live
A geographic Japanese phone number (03-style, not 050/VoIP) you can put on virtual-office contracts, bank applications, and registration paperwork.
AI answers. You read English.
When banks, city hall, or couriers call in Japanese, AIRI’s bilingual AI picks up — 24/7 — and an English summary lands in your inbox.
* Phone-number provisioning requires identity documents (ID and proof of address), as required for Japanese numbers. We’ll guide you through exactly what to prepare.
A phone presence in Japan that works while you sleep.
Bilingual AI receptionist
Answers in natural, polite Japanese — the register banks and government offices expect — and switches to English when the caller prefers it.
English summary of every call
Every call is transcribed, translated, and summarized to your inbox. You always know who called and what they need.
Built for your time zone
2 PM in Tokyo is the middle of the night in New York and early morning in London. Your AI answers while you sleep; you catch up over coffee.
English dashboard
Full call history with transcripts and translations, in English, from anywhere.
KYC acquisition support
Japanese number verification paperwork is confusing from abroad. We walk you through exactly what to submit, in English.
Compliance-first
Identity verification is mandatory and the number is yours alone. No borrowed names, no gray-zone shortcuts — the setup banks can trust.

* Phone-number provisioning requires identity verification documents (ID and proof of address). AIRI Global Founder provides the Japanese phone number and call-answering capability that procedures such as corporate bank account opening require; it does not guarantee account approval — screening is at each bank’s sole discretion.
Questions founders actually ask.
Can I really get a Japanese phone number without living in Japan?
Yes. AIRI provisions a Japanese phone number that is verified against your identity documents — typically your passport and a proof of address — and registered to you. We guide you through the verification paperwork in English, and you can complete it from overseas.
Is it a real geographic number, or a 050 / VoIP number?
A geographic Japanese number (an area-code number such as 03-style Tokyo numbers), not a 050 VoIP number. Many Japanese forms and institutions treat 050 numbers with suspicion or reject them outright — that is exactly the problem this service exists to avoid.
Can I use it when opening a corporate bank account in Japan?
That is what it is designed for: a Japanese contact number you can write on applications, plus a bilingual AI that answers the bank’s follow-up calls in Japanese and reports to you in English. Note that account screening is entirely at each bank’s discretion — AIRI provides the phone number and answering capability banks expect, but does not and cannot guarantee account approval.
Do I need a registered Japanese company first?
No. Verification is based on your personal identity documents, so you can set up your number while your company is still being registered. This is the key difference from business VoIP providers, which typically require Japanese corporate registration documents or a local address before activating a number.
Who actually answers my calls?
AIRI’s bilingual AI receptionist. It answers in natural Japanese, 24 hours a day — including Tokyo business hours, which are the middle of the night in the Americas and Europe. After every call you receive an English summary by email, and the full transcript with translation is available in your English dashboard.
What happens if I use more than the included 60 minutes?
Your plan includes 60 minutes of AI answering per month. Beyond that, additional time is billed at ¥160 per minute (excl. tax). Most founders in the setup phase stay well within the included minutes.
What is AIRI Global Founder not?
It is not a way around Japanese rules. Identity verification is mandatory, the number is registered to you (we never lend numbers or names), and we make no promises about bank screening outcomes. If you are looking for an anonymous number, this service is not for you.
