About Owani Town
The present Owani Town was formed in 1954 by merging Owani Town and Kuradate Town. Known for Owani Onsen and the ski area on Mount Ajara, it is a skiing town that has produced many Winter Olympians. The town office is about a 5-minute walk from Owani-Onsen Station.
