About Mobara City
Mobara City was established in 1952 through the merger of six towns and villages, including Mobara Town, and merged with Honno Town in 1972. Its name derives from Mobara-no-sho, an estate of the Heian period, and it is known for the Mobara Tanabata Festival, one of the largest in the Kanto region. The city office is in Dohyo.
