About Kanra Town
Kanra was born in 1959 from the merger of Obata Town, Niiya Village and others. Obata, once the castle town of the Obata Domain, is home to Rakusanen, a nationally designated Place of Scenic Beauty, and the Ogawa Weir, one of Japan's 100 Exquisite Waters. The town office is in the Obata district.
