About Biratori Town
Biratori became Biratori Village under the second-class municipal system in 1923 and adopted town status in 1954. It is home to the Nibutani Ainu Culture Museum, and the cultural landscape of the Saru River basin has been designated an Important Cultural Landscape of Japan.
