About Otobe Town
This town on the Sea of Japan coast was formed in 1902 when five villages, including Otobe, merged under the second-class town and village system, and it became a town in 1965. Motowadai Seaside Park has been selected by the Ministry of the Environment as one of Japan's 100 best swimming beaches, and the Enkatsura, a pair of intertwined katsura trees more than 500 years old, is also well known. The town office is in the Midoricho area of Otobe.
