About Urausu Town
Urausu separated from Tsukigata Village in 1899 and became a town in 1960. Because Sakamoto Naohiro, a nephew of Sakamoto Ryoma, settled here, the town has graves of the Sakamoto Ryoma family, and the vineyards of Tsurunuma Winery spread across its land. The town office is in the Urausunai area, on the right bank of the Ishikari River.
