About Kamigori Town
Kamigori Town adopted town status in 1913, and in 1955 it merged with the three villages of Takada, Kurai and Funasaka, among others. Historic sites linked to the Akamatsu clan remain, including the ruins of Shirahata Castle, a national historic site built by Akamatsu Enshin, and the JR Sanyo Main Line and the Chizu Express run through the town. The town office is in the Omochi area.
