About Kochi City
Kochi, the prefectural capital, became a city in 1889 and absorbed the villages of Tosayama and Kagami in 2005 and the town of Haruno in 2008. It developed as the castle town of Kochi Castle, and Harimaya Bridge is also well known. The city office is in Honmachi 5-chome, and began operating in its new building in 2020.
