About Misato Town
Misato was formed in 2004 by merging Chuo Town and Tomochi Town. Many stone bridges remain, including Reidai Bridge, and the town is known for the 3,333 steps of the “longest stone stairway in Japan” leading to Shakain Temple. The town office has two buildings, Chuo and Tomochi, and the mayor and town assembly are at the Chuo building in Baba.
