About Kesennuma City
Kesennuma City adopted city status in 1953 through the merger of three towns and villages, including Kesennuma Town, and merged with Karakuwa Town in 2006 and Motoyoshi Town in 2009. It is known for Kesennuma Fishing Port and the Karakuwa Peninsula, as well as Kesennuma Oshima Island. The city office is in Yokamachi, a 3-minute walk from Naiwan-Iriguchi BRT Station.
