About Soja City
Soja gained city status in 1954 through the merger of seven towns and villages, including Soja Town, and merged with Yamate and Kiyone villages in 2005 to form the new Soja City. In ancient times it was the heart of Kibi, where the provincial capital of Bitchu was located, and sites such as Bitchu Kokubunji Temple remain. The city office is in Chuo 1-chome.
