About Shiraoka City
Shiraoka City began as Shiraoka Town, formed in 1954 by merging three villages, and gained city status in 2012. It developed as Shiraoka New Town following the opening of Shin-Shiraoka Station, and is also one of the prefecture’s leading pear-growing areas. The city office is in Sendano.
