About Higashiomi City
Higashiomi was created in 2005 by the merger of 1 city and 4 towns, including Yokaichi City, and absorbed the towns of Notogawa and Gamo in 2006. It has the Omi merchant streetscapes of Gokasho as well as Eigenji Temple. The city office is about 1 km from Yokaichi Station on the Ohmi Railway, in Yokaichi-Midoricho.
