About Kora Town
Kora was formed in 1955 by the merger of the villages of Higashi-Kora and Nishi-Kora. It is home to Saimyoji, one of the Koto Sanzan temples, and is the birthplace of Todo Takatora, who became lord of the Tsu domain, and of Kora Munehiro, the master carpenter who oversaw the construction of Nikko Toshogu. The town office is in Zaiji, Kora.
