About Moriyama City
Moriyama became a city in 1970 when the town of Moriyama adopted city status, and it once prospered as a post town on the Nakasendo. On the shore of Lake Biwa are the Sagawa Art Museum and Misaki Nature Park. The city office is about a 15-minute walk from the west exit of JR Moriyama Station, in Yoshimi, and began operating in a new building in 2023.
