About Gotsu City
Gotsu, a city in the Iwami region, gained city status in 1954 through the merger of nine towns and villages, including Gotsu Town, and annexed Sakurae Town in 2004. It is where the Gonokawa, the largest river in the Chugoku region, flows into the Sea of Japan. The city office is in Gotsucho, Gotsu, and moved into a new building in 2021.
