About Tachikawa City
Tachikawa City became a city in 1940. A transportation hub of the Tama area, it is known for the redevelopment of the former Tachikawa Air Base site and Showa Kinen Park, a national government park. The city office is in Izumicho, where it moved to its current building in 2010.
