About Yamaguchi City
Yamaguchi gained city status in 1929, merged with four towns including Ogori in 2005, and annexed Ato Town in 2010; it is the capital of Yamaguchi Prefecture. The city is known for the five-story pagoda of Rurikoji Temple, a National Treasure, and for Yuda Onsen. The city office is in Kameyama-cho, where the new main building came into use in 2025.
