About Date City
Date was created in 2006 by the merger of five towns of Date District: Date, Yanagawa, Hobara, Ryozen and Tsukidate. It is known as a producer of its specialties, anpo-gaki semi-dried persimmons and peaches. The city office is the main building in Hobara-machi, about a 7-minute walk from Oizumi Station on the Abukuma Express line.
