About Nishiwaki City
Nishiwaki City, in northern Harima, was established in 2005 through the merger of the former Nishiwaki City and Kurodasho Town. It is the "navel of Japan," where 135 degrees east longitude and 35 degrees north latitude intersect, and is known for producing Banshu-ori woven textiles. The city office is in a new building in Shimotoda, to which it moved in May 2021.
