About Sakawa Town
The present town of Sakawa was formed in 1954 by the merger of the town of Sakawa and three villages, Togano, Ogawa and Kuroiwa. It is the birthplace of the botanist Makino Tomitaro, and is home to Makino Park, one of Japan's 100 Best Cherry Blossom Spots, and the Tsukasabotan sake brewery. The town office is at Ko 1650-2, Sakawa-cho.
