About Kikuchi City
Kikuchi was formed in 2005 by merging the former Kikuchi City with Shichijo Town, Kyokushi Village and Shisui Town. Its urban area spreads out around Waifu, once the seat of the Kikuchi clan, and the city is home to Kikuchi Gorge, one of Japan's 100 Exquisite Waters. The city office is in Waifu, in the city center.
