About Miyake Town
Miyake Town dates back to Miyake Village, founded in 1889, which became a town in 1974, and is the smallest municipality in Nara Prefecture by area. It is home to Hakusan Shrine, known for a stone on which Prince Shotoku is said to have sat. The town office is in the Tomondo district, about an 18-minute walk from Kintetsu Iwami Station.
