About Soni Village
Soni Village was formed in 1889, when Kake and seven other villages were combined under the new municipal system, and in 1954 it absorbed part of Muro Village (Yamakasu). Known for the Soni Highlands, famous for their silver grass, and the Byobuiwa cliffs, it is a member of The Most Beautiful Villages in Japan association. The village office is in the Imai district.
