About Arita Town
Arita Town was created in 2006 by the merger of Arita and Nishi-Arita. Known as the birthplace of Japanese porcelain and for its Arita ware, it is famous for the Izumiyama porcelain stone quarry, Tozan Shrine with its porcelain torii gate, and the Arita Ceramics Fair held every spring. The town office is in Tatsube.
