About Imari City
Imari became a city in 1954 when nine towns and villages of Nishimatsuura District merged. It is the home of Imari ware, and Okawachiyama, where pottery kilns are clustered, preserves the Okawachi Nabeshima kiln site, a national Historic Site. The city office is in Tachibana-cho.
