About Kijo Town
Kijo Village was formed in 1889 through the merger of the villages of Shiiki and Takajo, and became a town in 1973. The Omaru River flows through the center of the town, which is home to Kijo Ehon no Sato, a picture-book village, and Hiki Shrine. The town office is in Oaza Takajo, Kijo.
