About Shintomi Town
Shintomi was born from the 1959 merger of the villages of Nyuta and Tonda. A leading vegetable-growing area of the Miyazaki Plain, the town is home to the Japan Air Self-Defense Force's Nyutabaru Air Base and the Nyutabaru Burial Mounds. The town office is in Oaza Kamitonda, Shintomi.
