About Heguri Town
Heguri began as Meiji Village, founded in 1889 and renamed Heguri Village in 1896, and became a town in 1971. Once the base of the ancient Heguri clan, the town is home to Chogosonshiji Temple on Mount Shigi, known for the Shigisan Engi picture scrolls. The town office is in the Yoshishin district.
