About Ikoma City
Ikoma City was established in 1971, when Ikoma Town gained city status, becoming the ninth city in the prefecture. It is home to Hozanji Temple, revered for its deity of business prosperity, and the Takayama district produces more tea whisks (chasen) than anywhere else in Japan.
