About Tsukumi City
Tsukumi became a city in 1951 through the merger of four towns and villages, including Tsukumi Town. The city surrounds Tsukumi Bay on the Bungo Channel and also includes the islands of Hotojima and Mukujima. The city office is in Miyamotomachi, and a new building is scheduled to open in January 2027.
