About Usuki City
Usuki became a city in 1950 when Usuki Town merged with a neighboring village, and in 2005 merged with Notsu Town to form a new city. It is known for the Usuki Stone Buddhas (Usuki Magaibutsu), a National Treasure, its castle-town streetscape and soy sauce brewing. The city office has its Usuki building (Oaza Usuki) as well as a Notsu building.
