About Minamidaito Village
Made up of Minamidaito Island, which was settled to grow sugarcane, the village gained village status in 1946. Sugarcane and sugar production remain its key industries, and Hoshino Cave, a limestone cave, has been developed as a tourist attraction. The village office is in Minami.
