About Kurayoshi City
The central city of the prefecture's middle region, Kurayoshi gained city status in 1953 through the merger of nine towns and villages, including Kurayoshi Town, and annexed Sekigane Town in 2005. It is known for the white-walled storehouses of Utsubuki Tamagawa, an Important Preservation District for Groups of Traditional Buildings. The main city office building is in Aoicho.
