About Tottori City
The prefectural capital, Tottori City gained city status in 1889, annexed eight surrounding towns and villages in 2004, and became a core city in 2018. Its best-known sight is the Tottori Sand Dunes along the Sea of Japan. The city office is a 5-minute walk west of the south exit of Tottori Station, having moved into its new main building in 2019.
