About Wakasa Town
Formed in 1909 by the merger of three villages, the town took its present shape as Wakasa Town after merging with Ikeda Village in 1954. Bordering both Hyogo and Okayama, it is known for the ski resorts of Mount Hyonosen and the Wakasa Railway. The town office is in the Wakasa area.
