About Misawa City
Misawa became a city in 1958 when Omisawa Town was renamed. It is home to Misawa Air Base of the U.S. Forces in Japan, and, as the hometown of playwright Shuji Terayama, to the Terayama Shuji Memorial Museum. The city office is in Sakuracho 1-chome.
