About Bihoro Town
Bihoro Village was formed in 1915 through the merger of six villages including Bihoro, and became Bihoro Town in 1923. Located roughly midway between Abashiri and Kitami, it is known for Bihoro Pass in Akan-Mashu National Park, which overlooks Lake Kussharo. The town office is at Higashi 2-jo Kita in the town center, and its new building opened in 2021.
