Hiroshima Inochi no Denwa opened in April 1988 and became a social welfare corporation in 1998. Trained and certified volunteer counselors answer calls 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, and you can talk without giving your name.

• Calls are answered by volunteer counselors who have completed the prescribed training and been certified.

• Calls are recorded automatically to improve the quality of counseling, but recordings are managed appropriately by a designated manager and counselors are bound by a duty of confidentiality.
• It receives more than 10,000 calls a year.
