Miyazaki Inochi no Denwa: phone number and hours

Miyazaki Inochi no Denwa is Miyazaki Prefecture's Inochi no Denwa, established in October 2018 with the support of 16 organizations in the prefecture from fields such as medicine, health and welfare, law, and religion. Trained volunteer counselors answer the calls; you do not need to give your name, and your conversation is confidential. Hours differ by day of the week: from 6:00 p.m. on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays, and from 9:00 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, until 4:00 a.m. the next morning in both cases.

• Calls are answered by volunteer counselors who have completed the prescribed training course and been certified.
• You do not need to give your name, and what you discuss is kept confidential. Counseling is free, but call charges apply.
• As the center does not accept calls with caller ID withheld, it asks you to turn off caller ID blocking or add "186" in front of the number. Counselors never learn the caller's number.
• To improve its counseling, all calls are recorded, but the recordings are managed appropriately and are never provided or disclosed to third parties.
• The center takes calls when you are too anxious to sleep, when you want someone to listen, when you do not know where to turn, or when living feels too painful.

Your municipality (city, ward, town or village) also has counters for welfare, health and child-rearing concerns. Call the main number, explain what you want to discuss, and ask for the counter in charge.
