Saga Inochi no Denwa: phone number and hours

Saga Inochi no Denwa is Saga Prefecture's Inochi no Denwa. It opened in 1998 and has taken calls 24 hours a day without a single day off ever since. Volunteer counselors who have completed training listen to your worries on a line where you do not have to give your name. From within Saga Prefecture, a night-time toll-free number is also available.

• "Heart no Umi" sharing group for people bereaved by suicide

  A place where people who have lost a loved one to suicide can talk with one another. Held on the 4th Saturday of every month, 13:30–15:30 (doors open at 13:00). Participation is free, and you can join on the day without registering in advance. For inquiries, contact the office (weekdays 10:00–16:00).

• You do not need to give your name or address, and what you discuss is kept confidential. Counseling is free (call charges apply on the regular number).
• Counselors are volunteers who have completed training and been certified. They take calls about all kinds of worries, including life, family, marriage, health and relationships. They never impose any particular beliefs or religion.
• There are 126 telephone counselors (as of April 1, 2025).
• To improve the quality of counseling, all calls are recorded automatically and managed appropriately under an information management officer.
• The center has taken calls 24 hours a day without a single day off since it opened. In fiscal 2024 it received 17,346 calls, the 8th highest among the 50 centers that belong to the Federation of Inochi no Denwa.
