About Akitakata City
Akitakata was created in March 2004 by the merger of six towns in Takata District, including Yoshida and Yachiyo. The city has the ruins of Koriyama Castle, the seat of Mori Motonari, and is also known as an area where kagura is widely performed. The city office is in Yoshida, in the former Yoshida Town.
