About Etajima City
Etajima was created in 2004 by the merger of four towns: Etajima, Nomi, Okimi and Ogaki. Successors to the former Imperial Naval Academy, the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force 1st Service School and Officer Candidate School are located here, and parts of them are open to visitors. The city office is in Ohara, Ogaki-cho, where the main office moved from the Nomi building in 2016.
