About Futaba Town
Shineha Town was formed in 1951 through the merger of Shinzan Town and Nagatsuka Village, and was renamed Futaba in 1956. The town is home to the Great East Japan Earthquake and Nuclear Disaster Memorial Museum, which opened in 2020. The town office, which resumed operations within the town in 2022, is about a 3-minute walk from JR Futaba Station.
