About Shin'onsen Town
Shin'onsen Town was formed in October 2005 through the merger of the towns of Hamasaka and Onsen. It is home to Yumura Onsen, said to have been discovered in the Heian period, and Tajima Mihonoura, a national place of scenic beauty and natural monument. The main town office building is in Hamasaka (the former Hamasaka Town Office), and the Onsen general branch office is in the Yu area.
