About Midori City
Midori was born in 2006 from the merger of Kasakake Town, Omama Town and Azuma Village, becoming the first city in Gunma with a name written in hiragana. The Iwajuku archaeological site lies in the former Kasakake Town. The city office is divided among several buildings, and the Kasakake Building, which serves as the main office, is in Shika, Kasakakecho.
