About Tomi City
Tomi City was born in 2004 from the merger of Tobu Town and Kitamimaki Village. It has Unno-juku, a post town on the Hokkoku Kaido selected as an Important Preservation District for Groups of Traditional Buildings, and is also known as the birthplace of the great sumo wrestler Raiden Tameemon. The city office is in the Agata district.
