About Makurazaki City
At the southern tip of the Satsuma Peninsula, Makurazaki became a city in 1949 and has not undergone any mergers since. It is known for skipjack tuna fishing and the production of katsuobushi (dried bonito), and Hinokami Park, which overlooks the offshore rock formation of Tategami Iwa, is a popular spot.
