About Yoshino Town
The present town of Yoshino was formed in 1956 by the merger of six towns and villages, including Yoshino and Kamiichi. It is home to Mount Yoshino, famous for its cherry blossoms, and Kinpusenji Temple, both part of the World Heritage "Sacred Sites and Pilgrimage Routes in the Kii Mountain Range." The town office is in the Kamiichi district along the Yoshino River.
